At Zoopla, we understand that we have a responsibility to make positive impacts on our environment, for charity and within our local communities.
As an innovative, forward thinking business we are always looking to be more efficient in ways that benefit the business and our planet, from reducing our carbon footprint through to improving our supply chain, down to lowering the team's plastic consumption.
When it comes to our charity work, we focus on causes that are close to the hearts of our employees and currently support six employee-nominated charity partners in three ways.
We'll match up to £500 raised from fundraising events and activities in aid of our charity partners, and up to £250 for any other charity.
Employees are entitled to a full day's annual leave to volunteer for any registered charity or non-profit organisation.
We'll match employees' monthly donations to charity by up to £40/month for our charity partners, or up to £20/month for any other charity.
We’re a passionate bunch and lots of our team members take on daunting challenges to support our fundraising targets. Most recently, Will Grace from our Redruth team raised over £1,200 by jumping out of a plane... with a parachute.
From bake sales and quizzes to scrambling over cargo nets at Tough Mudder alongside our CEO Charlie Bryant, we always get stuck in for a good cause. Here are some of our highlights.
Every year we take part in Workplace Week, a scheme that offers curious individuals a behind-the-scenes look into some of London's most innovative and creative workspaces.
Our leaders set the tone and the pace earlier this year with Charlie Bryant (CEO), Jonathan Galore (Operating Partner for Silver Lake), Catrin Anderson (CPO) and Gary Bramall (CMO) competing in a four-mile relay around London's iconic Square Mile to raise funds for homeless charity Crisis. The team did incredibly well, and managed to raise a fantastic sum of £4,886.
Every year we invite members of Age UK into Zoopla's London HQ and run a range of classes, from internet support through to learning how to switch an energy bill. This day is always a highlight for us because aside from the teaching, we get to make some new friends.
We invited Lush to host a plastic-free workshop to teach us how to make eco-friendly, plastic-free soaps and face masks.
We’ve hosted learning lunches with environmental experts to help educate us on the effects of single-use plastic and what we can do to prevent it.
We hosted an anti single-use plastic week in which employees were encouraged to bring used containers from home and refill from a selection of eco-friendly household cleaning products, all for free!
When it comes to ordering in lunches for the office, our Frome team is leading the way, using local suppliers with plastic-free packaging.
The Redruth team frequently help clean up their local area. They’ve even been out on paddle boards to clear out their local waterway.
We ask our waste provider to visit every few months to host a recycling Q&A where colleagues can learn about where their waste goes and which bins to use.
We’ve held two UX/product design sessions to help grassroots environmental charities improve their products.
If you think Zoopla is the place for you,
we'd love to hear from you.
