There’s a lot going on here
We know how to stay connected and let off steam. From fully fledged festivals to award ceremonies (The Zooplas) to regular Company Updates, Podcasts, Z-Talks and sunflower growing competitions. Here's a flavour of some of the things we get up to.
There’s a new annual festival on the calendar and it’s even harder than Glasto to get a ticket for. Unless you’re one of us, in which case there’s one with your name on it. Z-Fest began life in September 2021 as a thank you to all Zoopligans for their hard work over the previous 18 months (it also gave many of us the opportunity to finally meet up face-to-face). It was such a success that we’re making it an annual event.
Here’s a sneak peek of what went down:
We get together – every week – to discuss what’s happening. Charlie (our CEO) is there at all of them. We stream them virtually so you can join them from anywhere, but we also host ‘watch parties’ for people getting together to watch it in the office – complete with big screens, drinks and snacks.
Once a month we host an ‘ask me anything’, where Zoopligans can ask Charlie and the Exec team anything (work related or not). We also host a one-hour Company Update monthly where we cover all the need-to-knows on performance, projects and achievements.
Keeping physically fit: You’ll find us getting active in weekly virtual yoga and pilates classes. Or breaking a sweat in our very own London gym. Or up and down the country, using our subsidised gym memberships to perfect our planks and smash our PBs.
Keeping mentally fit: We host virtual mindfulness sessions and have fully trained mental health first-aiders on call should you ever need them. Sometimes if you don’t share it, you carry it. So, there’s no judgement, no ifs, no buts – they’re here for you whenever you need them.
We move fast, but we never forget to celebrate how far we’ve come. Each year we host The Zooplas (like the Oscars, but more purple), an awards ceremony to recognise and celebrate Zoopligans who totally epitomise our Zoopla behaviours. The party is always finished off with a set from Zoopla’s very own DJ, DJ MJ.
We’re a home who loves to host. Whether we’re gathering for pizza nights, getting our mix on in cocktail making evenings, scratching heads over quiz questions (and discovering that one team member who knows a little too much about 80s Soap Operas) or raising a toast to each other at home or in the pub - it’s safe to say there’s always something lovely going on.
Our latest get-together brought our Product & Technology team together (in-person and virtually) for a day of teambuilding and inspiration activities. Visions and roadmaps were shared, and a special award ceremony took place. Awards ranged from the Octopus award (for being adaptable and resilient in times of change) to the Duct Tape award (for being able to literally fix anything) to Culture Club award (for championing a more inclusive culture for us all).
No Zoopligan is an island, especially when they’re new. We host Z-Connect events for new joiners to meet their new colleagues and get to know each other (over drinks and pizza of course).
We use our #zoopla_at_home_together slack channel to stay connected and keep things interesting with competitions throughout the year. Highlights involve a sunflower growing competition (we posted seeds out to everyone) and a Halloween pumpkin carving competition (yes, a pumpkin can give you nightmares).
We’re a charitable bunch - you can read more on our Impact page - but here’s a quick snapshot of what we did in 2021… we raised money for LGBTQ+ charities in Pride Month, completed the March for March in aid of The Captain Tom Foundation and had a bunch of bros growing a bunch of Mos for Movember, to help men live happier, healthier and longer lives.
We host optional lunchtime talks on a variety of topics close to our heart. Recent topics include financial well-being fundamentals like how to manage your pension, how to become a Tech We Can Champion, how to earn ££££ by referring talented people you know to Zoopla, and a talk from Refuge, about their pioneering work to support domestic abuse victims and how we can all lend a helping hand.
Come and join our movers and shakers, reinventing an industry in a scale-up you can still (just about) wrap your arms around.Apply
